If my love were…

Posted: May 11, 2013 in Love Songs, Music/Lyrics

If my love were in the sky it would be the sun,
If my love were an athlete it would run and run and run,
If my love were a shooting star, it’d be the brightest one.
For you, my love, are the fairest of them.

If my love were an ocean none other would be as deep,
If my love were a forest it would have the tallest trees,
If my love were a dessert it would never lose it’s heat,
For you, my love, my heart does beat.

If my love were the tide it would rise up and conquer the land,
If my love were the beach you could never count all the sand,
If my love were a canyon none would ever be as grand,
For you, my love, are most deserving of the ring on your hand.

If my love were the summer, then summer would be here to stay,
If my love were the winter, then pure white snow would brighten your day,
If my love were the fall, the pretty leaves would never fly away,
For you, my love, are my addiction and I don’t want to escape.

If my love were Mr. T it would pity those who gave you up, the fools,
If my love were pizza dough then to the ends of the earth it would roll,
If my love were a steamboat the steam would be thick and full,
For you, my love are a treasure and by far the most beautiful.

Her

Posted: May 11, 2013 in Love Songs, Music/Lyrics

How do I introduce her?
She’s the girl my heart beats for
She brings my mess to it’s knees
A piece of heaven, my ecstasy
Her eyes warm my soul at a glance
Summer skies, sweet and heavy romance
And her smile pleasant as the moon
Beating down on a perfect night in June
My heart races as our lips touch
The kiss of dreams, adrenaline rush
So soft and intimate
It’s just us, I’m glad we met
We’re not done, I’m not finished yet

Because it’s her, I can’t speak
Because it’s her, My knees are weak
Because it’s her, I love her
Just her.

I run my fingers through her hair
Smooth waves, wild curls, I’ll never share
She’s lovely and beautiful
To pass her by I’d be a blind fool
She turns heads and steals hearts
And she’s more than just a work of art
her depths feel like home to me
At ease falling for her personality
She’s something special, a cut above
I won’t leave her, this must be love
And it’s crazy that she doesn’t believe me
But I’ll show her, she’s precious, she’ll see…

I bring the rain.

Posted: May 11, 2013 in Music/Lyrics, Rap

Their beats are sick
But mine reign king of them all
They can spew nonsense at me all night long
But my flow brings the roof down in one song
They make ’em wet, I make ’em drown
Get baptized when they hear my sound
I’m like rain, they’re mud on the ground
When my bass drops their body feels the pound
They call it hot stuff, but caution don’t touch
If you wait a minute, I’ll be cooling them off
They say I’m wet behind the ears because they fear my drops
And the words I’m spouting they just can’t stop
I keep the lyrics clean while they prostitute their mouth
And I’ll still precipitate on the biggest sellout
Water level is rising, better get the hell out
Cuz I’ll rain on your parade, my antonym is drought
I bring the rain.

This is my crime

Posted: May 11, 2013 in Music/Lyrics, Rap

This is my crime, this is my rhythm
I feel all the judgement and criticism
Everyone’s stone cold, and they don’t even know
I’ma heat up the place, feel the melting flow

Got my girl knocked up with one mistake
Turn around and everyone knows my face
Act like they know my story; plot and fate
Judgmental against my age, cut, and race
They have no foot to stand on cuz all sin is the same
Mine just brought a life and yours only brings shame
The difference between us is that my sin has a name
But that doesn’t mean we should judge each other and add to the pain
So just stop and give a hand to a brother in need
Barely getting by, and now I have 3 mouths to feed
Of all the rules He only gave us 2 to head
Love God and love people, it’s a simple creed

This is my crime, this is my rhythm
I feel all the judgement and criticism
Everyone’s stone cold, and they don’t even know
I’ma heat up the place, feel the melting flow

I’ve got an addiction that I can’t hide
I realize I’m only screwing up my life
I need help, forget my pride
But when I came to you all I received was strife
I don’t wanna say that you’re a bad person
Just that with what I’m going through nothing could be worse than
Being judged and mistreated by people who visit church on the weekend
And being exiled for being a “bad influence” on your children
But feeling alone only makes the sickness worsen
Thank God for Jesus, He’s a better help than your “churches”
Because He intervened I burned the bridges
Now a few years clean helping others out of addictions.

This is my crime, this is my rhythm
I feel all the judgement and criticism
Everyone’s stone cold, and they don’t even know
I’ma heat up the place, feel the melting flow

Yea, I’m looking at things I shouldn’t see
But you can’t say much if there’s dust on what you should read
I’m struggling to get a grip on what’s really reality
And all these people have to say is “It’s a sin” “Just pray”
“Just believe that He’ll take it away”
“You must not have enough faith”
Well tell you what, when sin feels good
It’s like telling someone walking in the hood
They should leave the piece at home just because they should
It doesn’t make much sense, doesn’t do any good
What I needed was a real image of love
Why I should respect women, the reasoning of He above
I found it on my own no thanks to you
Open up to 1 Peter, chapter 2.
I’m a work in progress, growing into my new shoes
I’ll redefine Christianity, Mission statement: Matthew 22.

Silhouette

Posted: May 11, 2013 in Music/Lyrics, Other Songs

She’s only a silhouette
A figment of my dreams
And now I realize
That’s all she’ll ever be
No matter what I feel
A dancing shadow is not for me
I need a truth that’s real
Not a silhouette dream

Her silhouette drives me crazy
Like chasing shadows in the afternoon
It’s like I’m singing “Call me maybe”
But it’s just not her tune
I never really had her
She played me, I’ma fool
And now it’s game over
In the game for two

I may have held her hand
I saw her so clearly
But all I saw was a shadow
Dancing just for me
But the person behind
She was always out of reach
And now I realize
A silhouette’s all she’ll ever be

She’s only a silhouette
A figment of my dreams
And now I realize
That’s all she’ll ever be
No matter what I feel
A dancing shadow is not for me
I need a truth that’s real
Not a silhouette dream

A little fire and she fades away
The light starts to shine, she’s gone the next day
She moved and passed me by
But silhouettes need no alibi
For the crimes of heart ache they leave behind
Their pretty little dance for any passer-bys
Passing by, curiosity
But that doesn’t make it right to be
Misrepresenting what you may seriously (be)
If you were honest with yourself and reality
Reality just doesn’t seem right to me
If people like her are the majority
A real silhouette society
Yea, until heart and truth meet.

She’s only a silhouette
A figment of my dreams
And now I realize
That’s all she’ll ever be
No matter what I feel
A dancing shadow is not for me
I need a truth that’s real
Not a silhouette dream

Teach me to thank You

Posted: May 11, 2013 in Music/Lyrics, Worship

Lord, teach me to thank You for everything
Of what you have done and will do, I will sing
Your glory above all, You are the true King
So teach me to thank You for everything

Thank You for the cross where You died
Where You paid the price
You made Your life my light
Came down from the highest of highs!

You died for the blind
To bridge the greatest divide
Connected man to his Guide
So now we lift Your name high!

Lord, teach me to thank You for everything
Of what you have done and will do, I will sing
Your glory above all, You are the true King
So teach me to thank You for everything

Thank You for all of creation
The stars and the moon…
Shout “Oh! What the Lord has done
Creator and King, the Lord is One!”

Mountains to pastures, all under the sun
Will bow before God, whose name lives on
We bear witness to the beauty Your hands have spun
Standing before it in awe, utterly stunned.

Lord, teach me to thank You for everything
Of what you have done and will do, I will sing
Your glory above all, You are the true King
So teach me to thank You for everything
